yep, still here!

Yep, we're still here!

School has been cancelled for the rest of the year here in SC, but the gov has allowed select retail stores to reopen. I didn't open Sugar last Tuesday when he said we could, but I've slowly began to finish getting the store back in order so that we may reopen this Friday, May 1st. I'm still super nervous, obviously, but I know how germaphobe we are and we'll continue the cleanliness of the store and limit the amount of customers in the store. Also customers can always shop online if they don't feel comfortable coming in.

We are so incredibly thankful for the love and continued support from our amazing customers. So grateful that we've even had online as an option! It's certainly kept us afloat, but things are no where near close to being "normal".

It sucks. So many mamas out there juggling full time jobs, working from home and now homeschooling. I will be the first to say I was not cut out to teach. Good grief, you teachers deserve a BIG OL' RAISE! Here's our little Charlie practicing writing his name while Cade does his school packet. He looks so squishy and little, yet so grown at the same time.

We had already decided that we would enroll him in another year of the church preschool vs. him beginning kindergarten since he has a late July birthday. Now we are extra grateful that he's already in for next year!

We've spent a lot more time outdoors, as has everyone just trying to escape the indoor insanity and the weather here in SC has been amazing. Finally caved and bought a few flowers to update our planters on our deck...

and our knock out roses are blooming...

and we spent several days pressure washing the entire house, which is always a big feat since we have vinyl. It needs it every. single. year but man, it makes such a difference!

A lot more dining al fresco, for sure...

one of the best meals I've cooked during social distancing is THIS.

Since we can't go out to eat at restaurants, we've saved a lot more $ on food (even though with two boys I do feel like we're spending a ton more on groceries, goodness). So continuing my Home Chef subscription (I signed up Feb 2019 and some weeks I skip, but we've enjoyed it SO much. It makes life so much easier and swear it saves me money) has been a God send...

This is definitely my most favorite Home Chef meal ever. MUST try this when it becomes available. Promise it's not that difficult. None of the Home Chef meals are. If you can read and follow instructions, you can make Home Chef meals! Promise.

Take care and stay well, friends...
