So our weekend didn't necessarily kick off Thursday evening, but it was a fun Thursday night since we had our first "pizza party" in the new (yes, totally not close to being finished) house. Chad and his buddy "Posey" were building shelving in the attic and I surprised them with Chad's favorite pizza from the local restaurant, Irenes. Ummm local Due West peeps - the BBQ Chicken Pizza at Irene's is what's up. Not even joking. Anything to keep the men working! Very grateful for their hard work and very grateful that I lugged 12 Christmas boxes all the way to our barn a few days ago for the last time. I will not know what to do when I simply have to walk it upstairs! It's the little things people...
Friday we were SLAMMED with a ton of boxes at Sugar. New shipments arrived to restock the store after Black Friday and oh, how we did restock. We still aren't done opening boxes and getting out all of the inventory but one thing is for sure...it's good. Really good. Holiday styles are always some of my favorites! Gimme sequins...sequins...and more sequins. Yes, please.
Saturday morning I tried to clean, wrap a few gifts, etc... and all Cade wanted to do was "go dove hunting". Hilarious. Oh and why yes, that's duct tape on his gun. Never a dull moment around here!
Saturday night it was time for a little much needed "mommy time" at a fun, casual girls Christmas party with some of my favorites. I found this three year old cozy Karlie sweater from Sugar in the back of my closet and paired it with bow flats from Blossom that just so happened to match perfectly. I love when last minute outfits come together in my favor. Usually I'm throwing on first thing I can find, life has been so crazy lately. We had such a great time, so much so that I didn't get a single pic there. Yummy food, lots of laughs and a round of dirty santa with gag gifts then with real gifts. So much fun!
Sunday I did a couple photoshoots then took Cade to the Greenwood parade again Uptown. He loved it so much last year, I KNEW he would have a blast this year. We had a late lunch at Sugar then walked right out front to take a seat for the parade. Love my brown eyed boy!
However I don't know what he enjoyed more...all the candy or the actual parade?
Mimi and Papa came to join us and then Cade went to eat with them while I took even more pics (last ones for the year...whew...back to editing I go...) but it was a fun Sunday.
so now we have just a few gifts wrapped (um a lot more to buy...and wrap...I've barely started), Christmas tree up (all the decor I'm going to do this year) and this little man in his new Christmas pjs with his new Christmas Angel. Tis the season!
The days are flying by so fast and I've been a tad bit busy lately, yes, but I am determined to keep "first things first" and truly soak in time with family. Set aside time to create new memories, keep traditions, and just simply "be" in the season...whether the presents get wrapped {or *gasp*...purchased} until Christmas Eve or not. Who cares? I work best under pressure anyways and it all flies by entirely too fast! Be sure to enjoy it.
