Sunday Ramblings

  • A few days ago Blue Eyed Bride did a fun post about your strut song. You know, the song that would play in your "life soundtrack" if you were to walk into a room. C'mon, don't act like you've never thought about it. What puts a little extra pep in your step? Gets you going? I was thinking hard about this one. There's so many songs, especially older ones, I love. One favorite is Boogie Shoes by KC & The Sunshine Band. No way I can hear that song and not want to strut around and dance. Also, Walk this Way by Aerosmith and Black or White by MJ. But then I heard this classic on the radio and instantly thought, yes! PLEASE tell me you remember Ina Kamoze's Hot Stepper? Oh yes, I'm taking it back old school. Strut into the room to this song one time for me why don't ya?
sorry, you may have to turn off media player and the Fripp video before you listen.

  • Few other tunes I'm loving at the moment: "Easy" by Rascal Flatts & Natasha Bedingfield, "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People, "Keep your Head Up" by Andy Grammer, "Lighters" by Bad Meets Evil. Random, but yes.
  • Today mom and I were shopping after church and thought we would just browse the local furniture store for rockers/recliners. She's always thought we needed one in our living room, in addition to our sectional sofa, but I've never wanted to buy one. Didn't think we had the room, but agreed we probably needed one before the baby arrived. Well, we walked into Hampton Furniture [where we bought our living room furniture. We love them] and low and behold, perfect timing. All Lane collection recliners/rockers were B1G1 FREE [or 1/2 off if purchase one]. Not to mention it was tax free weekend and they offer an exceptional lifetime warranty and had the exact one I had looked at online. I knew I wanted something comfy, but I also wanted it to look as modern as possible, coordinate with our microsuede chocolate brown sectional and go along with the scheme of the room. So guys, I bit the bullet and made the purchase. It was such a great deal and I know that we will LOVE rocking our little one{s} in this for many years to come. Sure, I'd love for our living room to look like something out of a magazine and I love interior design/decorating, but I also love a home that you can live in. This is certainly what we need for this stage in our life and know there will be many milk spills/ spit up stains to come and we are perfectly ok with that. Excited, actually! Now, even more excited since we got such a great deal and that leaves more $ in our budget for the nursery. Hooray!
  • Speaking of the nursery, we find out if sweet little one is a "he" or a "she" in just a few weeks! I may do a fun old wives tale post this week to see if anyone has any guesses. Also, I've already thought about nursery bedding/ideas for both, now I'm just so excited to find out what to buy. I love love love everything. It's going to be so fun to decorate the nursery. When we remodeled the two guest bedrooms this past Fall, we painted the "junk room/one day nursery" a light aqua color since we knew it would go for either girl or boy. Plus, if you know me well, you know that's also my favorite color. I love how it turned out, so here's a sneak peek at what I have in mind to match.

  • Random, but my breakfast of choice lately has been a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese and apple juice to drink. Seriously? Should I throw in grapes and a banana? Oh and hamburgers nearly everyday. Lots of lots of hamburgers and Chick fil A sandwiches. I am one hungry girl.
  • I never posted about our Sip & Shop at Sugar, but it went so well and special thanks to my friends who drove down from Greenville & Spartanburg for the event. I appreciate everyone stopping by to shop and we had a great time. We're also having a huge sale event right now and you can even shop online at www.scsugar.com. Check it out!
  • I tried to sign up for Pinterest this weekend. I think I need help.
  • Is anyone watching Bachelor Pad tomorrow night? I have a feeling it's going to be a train wreck but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to resist. Just like the Ben & Jerry's ice cream in my fridge I'm about to devour. Happy Sunday!
