cade's first grand slam.

Thursday, May 30, 2019

still trying to catch up and had to document May 16th...

the day my baby Cade hit his first GRAND SLAM!

Cade's number this year was number 12 which was the baseball number of Chad's first cousin, Drew, who
was set to be a groomsman in our wedding but tragically killed in a car wreck in 2007. #luckynumber12

this is the face of pure JOY!!!!

He was more than thrilled and scored them enough runs to win the game. We were so proud and I could have literally teared up seeing his little face light up!

During this season he's also enjoyed being catcher too...

and of course playing with his best buds...

they all signed the game ball for him to take him and he keeps reminding me I need to go buy him a clear case to put it in. Let me add that to my list! haha

the next day was Chad's birthday so on the ride home Cade said "I did it for you daddy!"

melt. my. heart.

here's a few more pics of the boys from that particular game...

cousin Carter always hitting bombs...

and his bff Brantley too!

Chad enjoyed being one of the coaches for another year...

and Charlie just enjoyed being a spectator for another year. ha!

and that's a wrap on the 2019 season!

Until next year, boys...

baseball, market and birthdays!

That's what we've been up to lately. It's been a FUN (exhausting!) past few days! So thankful the temps are rising and it finally feels like Spring. We've got even more fun planned for this weekend, so if you're local make sure you stop by Sugar and check it out!

First up last Thursday Cade had a baseball game in Abbeville so my sis and niece, nephew came to see him. These two had a blast together, as always...

Friday morning my store manager, Kayla, and two sales associates (Brantlee & Mabry) met at my house then we were off to Atlanta. I wanted to take them all to an apparel show, especially since Brantlee and Mabry will leave for college in August. My sister held down the fort so we could all go!

First stop: Starbucks in Commerce, GA to fuel up.

we made it to market around noon...

and one of our first appointments was with our favorite (for going on ten years now...) Karlie!

we had several other appointments and finally wrapped up / checked in to the Westin (connected to market) around 6pm. Here's the view from our room. I love staying here because it's connected to market and also we love dining at the top at Sun Dial!

which is where we went for dinner Friday night so we never had to leave our hotel...

I got the filet and it was so good, but the real winner is still the crab cake which is an appetizer. Literally best I've ever had!

elevator ride 72 floors up!

on Saturday we had a few more appointments, did a little jewelry shopping for the store (and ourselves, of course!) then we made it back home mid afternoon. Brantlee loved snuggling on our dog, Hank, and wanted to take him home. haha She's definitely the animal lover of the group and fun fact: she has pet baby squirrels that she constantly rescues. Feeds them formula out of syringes and everything. We tell her she should be a veterinarian one day!

meanwhile, while I was gone the boys had fun with their cousins and went to cousin Jackson's skeet shoot!

Sunday was a busy day....church, a birthday party for this precious girl....

there was a bouncy house, water slide and these kiddos had a BLAST.

then I took senior pics for one of my friends. Her son is graduating high school in a few weeks (it's actually my best friend's nephew) and I can REMEMBER THE DAY HE WAS BORN. Eeesh. Just another reminder to hold em' tight because time is definitely flying!

Just like this little guy who is now wearing 5T hand-me-downs when he came to help me work this morning. He loves grabbing the online orders from the printer...

So now we prep for Sugar's 11 Year Celebration this weekend and we also always have a busy week when it's The Masters! Join us Friday, April 12th 10-6 and Saturday, April 13th 10-6 for fun new arrivals, a sidewalk sale, free gifts and free Bruster's Ice Cream from 1-3pm Saturday!

sprinkle your closet with a little sugar...

obsessed with all the new fun jewelry we found.

Again, come out and shop this weekend. We're most excited about Bruster's Ice Cream but also the amazing sidewalk sale where ALL STYLES are priced $10, $20 or $40. Yep, nothing over $40. Tons of Spring and Summer from last year that you can purchase and begin wearing right. this. minute.

We'll see you then!

take me out to the ballgame.

Blame it on the MLB game on Playstation for getting my child hooked on the Chicago Cubs!

Cade knows every single player and is mostly obsessed with Kris Bryant. He watches YouTube videos about him, loves watching any MLB baseball game on TV and of course playing baseball outside with Chad and Charlie.

He once told me that he wanted to go to school and make a lot of money one day so he could move to Chicago and watch the Cubs play.

Not joking.

SOOOO when we saw the Braves had a makeup game against the Cubs on Thursday, August 30th...well, we knew we had to make it happen.

Cade was so surprised to see not only me and Charlie, but his daddy also in the car when picking him up from school Thursday (my mom usually picks him up btw). We still didn't tell him where we were going or what we were doing, we simply told him to lay on the pillow and try to take a nap!

The funniest part is when we finally got to our hotel , Hampton Suites right by Suntrust Park - about a half a mile and within walking distance, Cade sees people coming out with Cubs jerseys on. He freaked out just excited to see someone with a Cubs jersey on. Ohhhhh little did he know.

We got settled in and finally sat them down to explain the reason they were here. We threw a Braves t-shirt at Charlie first and told him to put it on. They were SO excited! "We're going to a Braves game??? What??" ... Then we pulled a Cubs jersey (Kris Bryant's...of course...)  out of the bag and threw it to Cade to put on...

He. freaked. out.

YouTube video coming soon because it was so dang hilarious!!!!

We all freshened up and quickly made our way to walk over to the ballpark. Definitely recommend this hotel because it's super convenient.

Charlie was just enamored. He took it aaaaall in....that face!

This was our first time at SunTrust Park and let me just say, wow...it is so nice!

First MLB game for both of our boys too and at six and three, we felt like they were good ages.

this one stranger offered to take a pic of us and took ONLY ONE pic. Can't believe it actually turned out decent.

It was HOT, of course, being Atlanta at the end of August....but once the sun began to go down and the breeze kicked in, it really did feel so nice.

I had so many asked where I got my shoes and yep, AMAZON. $26 bucks. Super comfy.

Look at these sweet cheeks!!

It was a great game (even though Kris Bryant was hurt and not even there)...and the Cubs actually WON!!!!!!! Cade was on cloud nine.

They really had the best time and thought they were little kings perched up in that hotel bed.

The next morning we had breakfast at Cracker Barrel before stopping by Bass Pro Shop!

This fun family trip will definitely always be one to remember. Here's to many more baseball games in the future for this boy mama :)
