:: kicking off Summer ::

Monday, June 15, 2015

So it's not officially Summer yet, but as I mentioned before, last week was the first full week school was out around here and that meant Cade's sitter was off for the Summer too. I've still got enough help to work about 3 days a week, but it sure has been nice to have some time off too.

When the weekend rolled around we were ready to have some fun and enjoy the HOT, sunny temps. I kicked off my weekend with a little shopping spree at Blossom Shoes & Such (right around the corner from Sugar). I mean, when you're 9 months prego and none of your clothes fit...what else can you buy but cute shoes and accessories? (I'm so ready to get back in my clothes!!) I've been desperately needing a new HOBO wallet for YEARS. Seriously, mine was ridiculous. I finally bit the bullet and got a new one. Yes, I went with pink. A big change from my previous ol' tan one, but I love it!

Then Friday night all three nephews wanted to come spend the night. They wanted to stay Wednesday after we had a crowd over for fish tacos, and I promised them Friday would be perfect.

Cade and Carter call each other "best buddies", so they had to wear their Disney "best buddies" shirts they brought Cade back from a recent Disney trip. They really are not only cousins but the best of friends. They had a fun time outside, then we watched Space Jam (a classic) before bedtime.

Saturday morning meant time for waffles. I freakin' love waffles. More so than pancakes.
The Krusteaz mix is the best (Jackson said "it smells like doughnuts") and they had a ball helping me whip up waffles with the waffle maker. Such a treat!

Boys will be boys. Messes will be made. Please note the baby swing in the corner that we got back from friends who were borrowing and set up this weekend. Things are getting real!

So around lunch I loaded all the boys back up and took them back home so we could all enjoy some much needed pool time. It was so hot and the pool felt great...until big mama (um, me) busted the new float and begin to sink. True story. Trust me, everyone got a good laugh! Lawd.

These two continued to be obsessed with matching. Hilarious. I swear us mamas had nothing to do with this. Cade had on his swimtrunks (from MudPie) and Carter went in house and put his on too!

It was a fun day with cousins and friends. Cade got to love on baby Blain a lot and get plenty of practice (so did I....) and oh how it makes us so excited! That newborn smell is THE. BEST.

Sunday Cade and Chad had a daddy/son day while my mom and I went to Sugar to completely organize/clean the back office and get everything in place for when I'm out with the baby. We got so much done! I'm always nervous about leaving "my first baby" (the store) but I know the girls will do a great job and keep things running smoothly for the few (errr...like maybe 2) weeks I'm out.

Last night we ended the weekend with Corley's Market filets on the big green egg.

If you can't tell, I am all about some food lately.

This baby boy may come out even bigger than Cade, but oh well. I'm milking this last pregnancy for all it's worth and plan on eating everything in site the next few weeks. HA!

Can't wait to go back to the doctor Thursday for my 37 week check up.
Up next, I hope to share pics of the nursery too. Few more details today and we. are. finished.
Hooray!
