catching up...

It has been a busy week. Busy is good in my profession. No, busy is GREAT :)

This is my second week working six consecutive days and after Sunday, I do it right back over again. It's pretty exhausting, but I could not be more grateful. Now I just need the Lord to send me just the right person to help so I can hire someone new!

As for what Cade has been up to this week. Oh, ya know, just strumming away on his daddy's guitar...
He wants to play soooo bad.

Can not believe football season begins one week from today!!!!!
So ready to watch the Gamecocks and even more excited that we finally have tickets for at least three of the games this year. I am PUMPED!!

Time to think about gameday outfits and I am loving all of the new gameday styles that are arriving at Sugar right now. Seriously, go check it out. We've got a huge variety of styles and price points.
I must say, I'm a little partial to these...

For our anniversary last Friday, I worked until 6pm in Greenwood, came home, then we scooted to downtown Anderson and had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Sullivans. The honey drizzled hushpuppies with pimento cheese app is to die for. Then I get the goat cheese/caramelized onion stuffed porkchops every. single. time. They are amazing and I'm a creature of habit when it comes to my favorite restaurants. It was soooo nice to unwind and catch up after a long week.
I absolutely love date nights and feel they are even more important once kids are in the picture. We love spending every minute we can with Cade, but we also know the importance of taking time for ourselves!

Lilly and lace. Outfit of the night!

We use to think we would have a big trip planned for our five year, and while we reaaaally wanted to go somewhere, it just did not happen with our crazy work schedules and recent time off for Fripp. Our night consisted of Cade spending the night with my mom and us renting a RedBox movie after dinner, then watching it in peace and quiet at home. Perfect!

As for gifts...we really didn't do that either. We like to call ourselves "trying to plan for exciting future projects/plans" (trying is the key word people). But, this shopaholic with very little self control I found a Kate Spade purse during their major online sale that I loved for Fall, so I bought it and deemed it "my anniversary gift". And Chad? Well, he was happy, happy, happy with shot gun shells for upcoming dove season. Easy enough.

Nothing super fancy. Nothing super elaborate. A little time together to chat and laugh is all we desperately needed, so it was a GREAT anniversary weekend! Maybe we will work on planning a fun vacation for just the two of us in the Spring. For now, a date night here and there is just what we need to keep our sanity during life's busy schedule.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
