On Friday, May 3rd this little "baller" turned 15 months!
"So what if I look like my daddy!" |
Here's what he's been up to lately...
New words:
He's pretty much like a little parrot now. Repeating everything!
A few nights ago, Chad said something to me and I replied "Psssh. Please!" sarcastically... Cade looks up and repeated "Peeeeze!" We. both. died. laughing. Hilarious!
He will come up to me and pat his little chubby hands on my leg and say "Ma-Ma". Y'all. Seriously. I could be having the worst day ever and this little "love pat" from Cade will instantly make my day all better. It is the sweetest thing. Also, when Chad was out of town last weekend I may or may not have trained Cade to answer this question like this...
Me: "Cade...who do you love?"
Cade: " MA-MA!"
Me: "YAY!!!!" chanting and cheering
Chad: rolls eyes and replies "this is ridiculous"
BAH!
He does LOVE his mama, but when Chad was gone let me tell you. This child went through the house and to the back door looking out the window hollering "DA-DA!" because he thought Chad was outside with Cash, our dog, like he usually is in the evenings and working outside some. He couldn't figure out where his daddy was and he missed him so much!
Baby played hard last week at Mrs. Kims! He was sacked out in the swing at 7pm! |
Cade also says....
"Bye Bye" , "Mi-Mi", "Pa-Pa", "Co-Co", "Who dat?" when hears something, "Hot!" when he sees stove or something steaming. "No No" (wonder why? i mean he only hears it like a million times a day. The other night he pointed his finger at me after I did and said "NO NO!" ) "moooooooo" when asked what a "moo cow" says. "Vooooooo" when ask what a truck says or if hears truck go down the road. We're still working on "trac trac" for tractor. "Ewww", "Uh Uh" (another word for no no), "Ank-ewww" (trying for "thank you") and "Peeeeze" for please. "Car Car" for Carter and he has said "Jack Jack" before too. Still working on Maddox or Mad-Mad for Maddox. He barks like a dog when you ask him what a dog says or what Dobby says (Mrs. Kim's dog). He pretty much tries to repeat whatever you tell him to, so I know this list could go on and on, but those are the words he uses on a daily basis it seems. He is talking more and more everyday!
Well, he's gotten pretty good at "throwing shade" (aka, giving me this look as if he's judging me for taking yet another selfie pic. "Aint nobody got time for that mama!")
He's gotten good at this face too. His newest, funnest face! Actually you have to see what he does in person, to really understand the full hilariousness. I'm trying to get a video, but he makes this face when he gets really excited...puts his hands out...and starts shaking and flipping out, like he is just the most excited, thrilled baby in the whole world! We crack up every. single. time.
I mean, but let's be honest, I still get this excited over Zaxby's chicken strips and Zax sauce too, so he gets is honest :)
He had his first "faceplant" off the slide. Yeah. So apparently, he thinks you can WALK down the slide, not slide down on your bottom. Mrs. Kim (our sitter) felt so bad about it but I assured her it was nothing new, as we both know he is fearless, and this will probably be the first of many falls.
It scratched up his nose pretty good, but other than that he was ok and it healed fast!
Cade LOVES brushing his teeth. Ahem...except with MY toothbrush, not his.
It's our morning ritual. As I get ready, he has to have the toothpaste and try to strategically put it on the toothbrush just as mommy does, then he tries to brush his teeth (well, or just suck the water out of the toothbrush, whichever). Babies pick up on EVERYTHING.
What Cade likes to eat...
Hmmm, pretty much anything and everything.
Breakfast: Gerber Cereal Bars (buy big packs at Sams) and he still loves Gerber Pear & Cinnamon Oatmeal baby food if we're in a hurry. Also, Gerber Yogurt Blends (buy big pack at Sams), grits, etc... He was eating those mini pancakes a lot, which he loved of course, but when he had tummy issues, we had to revert back to more baby food and fruit/high fiber grains so he would go to the bathroom.
Lunch: Gerber Toddler Meals if I don't send leftovers from night before or sometimes a cracker/tortilla/meat/cheese combo for him and strawberries/banana. Yesterday I sent my sis in law's chicken & dumplings with him to Mrs. Kims which he ate like there was no tomorrow. So good!
Dinner: pretty much whatever we eat - from avocados/black beans on Mexican night to mashed potatoes and steak (finally tried it cut up in tee tiny pieces). He loves potatoes, just like his mama and daddy. Sweet potatoes or regular potatoes.
Snacks: he loves cheese puffs, strawberries, raisins, chex rice cereal, cheerios, Gogurt, and Ritz crackers.
He drinks a lot of prune juice and apple juice, then his milk at night before bed in sippy cup or sometimes in morning too.
A dear friend gave me a great book called "Praying Circles around your Children". Seriously, go by this book. I love this because it's so true...
"Just when you think you have them pegged, they become toddlers or teenagers or twenty-somethings, and you're right back at square one. All you can do is learn a few lessons along the way and enjoy the journey. I have discovered one thing, however, that makes all the difference in the world.
Make sure the heavenly Father hears about your kids daily!
