Interrupting the "wedding posts" to share a bit about our weekend. Then hopefully tonight I can finish up and post a few wedding pics. Few? Ha, yeah right.
We had a VERY productive weekend. Chad went back to Alabama (for the second time in three weeks. Luckily he is here to stay for a WHILE. PTL!) so I was "single mom status" again but I FINALLY got all of the Christmas down at home and at Sugar.
Yes, I realize it's the middle of January but whatevs.
This lovely present came in the mail. I wanted regular Ray Ban aviators but Zulily hosted a sale and I snagged these Marc by Marc Jacobs for only $65! My gift from the hubs. He loves when I take care of the shopping for him.
Friday evening mom, Courtney, Cade and I went to Orion Rugs in Anderson. It's a rug manufacturer that has an outlet section. Amazing. I finally purchased a rug for under our dining room table (we don't really have a "dining room" since it's open to living room) and
I've been wanting one for THREE YEARS!
I spotted one online at Overstock for $165 and also another at Ballard for $119. While I absolutely loved both of those, I just could not pass up a 5x8 rug for $59! It is just perfect and a much better price since we will probably want to invest in a larger rug for an "official dining room" once we build. I'll share more pics later.
Cade was such a good boy riding in his "big boy stroller". I mean, because he IS a big boy.
Does he not look TWO in this picture? Makes a mama wanna cry.
He looks just like my mom as a baby in this photo right here. My sunshine!!
Speaking of my mom, Saturday she came over to help me organize every. single. cabinet and drawer in my kitchen, clean and more. My mother & father in law kept Cade with the help of my sis-in-law. Let me just say one thing: thank the LORD for family. I have no idea what I'd do without them when Chad is gone. On Sunday, my sis & Mack had us over for lunch then they kept Cade (again, beyond thankful for my sweet fam) while mom and I headed to Sugar to do even more cleaning/organizing and I finally painted one of our dressing rooms, our checkout counter, tables, doors, trim and more.
Anything that needed a fresh glossy coat of white paint. It. took. forever. What was I thinking? I was so sore yesterday. Don't get me wrong, I love to paint...but next time, I'm hiring someone. I'm getting old.
You can't even go to the bathroom in peace with this little nosy thang. Trying to see where Grami went at Mack & Coco's. Hilarious. |
Speaking of getting old, I turned 29 yesterday! Wow. Last year in my twenties? You better believe I'm celebrating aaaaaaalllllll year ;) Oh and I will remain 29 until further notice.
Thanks to everyone for all of the sweet FB comments, texts, calls, cards, etc...
You have absolutely made my WEEK, not just my day. Seriously, so blessed.
The hubs took me to dinner at one of my favorites, Sullivans in Anderson, and my sister & girlfriends have a fun night of surprises planned for me Saturday. I am one lucky gal. Can not wait!
Here's to another fabulous year and I'll do a post soon about my "29 Forever" birthday, as well as my fun projects from the weekend, soon.
