a few pics and our weekend

Had to share this pic of my little peanut. Here he is on Labor Day, his 7 month birthday.

"7 months already? You gotta be kiddin me!"
Someone said to me last weekend that Cade looked like my sister. Then my mom came across this photo of her when she was a baby and I decided to compare. You can definitely see a resemblance. What do you think?
[and side note: I have no idea what in the world Courtney is wearing. Her Christmas pajamas? Bless. They were probably hand-me-downs from me so I really should hush]

As for our weekend, it was pretty much full of work for me, but since I knew I had to work all day Saturday and planned on a "cleaning/catch up day" at the store Sunday, I decided I would take Friday off. Thank you Brittany! Started the day at the huge fabric sale in Williamston - All About Fabrics. No idea what I'm going to do with this but I know I want new master bedroom accent pillows, new decor in one of the dressing rooms at Sugar, and I also wanted to make a few pillows, fabric covered memory boards, etc... for Sugar too.

I also really want to take a sewing class this Fall. It's at our local technical college and only five weeks, one night a week. I've had a sewing machine for nearly four years now and still don't know how to use it. It's high time to do something about that. Who wants to join me?

Then I purchased Cade a new car seat at Buy Buy Baby because he is getting so BIG and is beginning to hate his current car seat. He sits up and strains to get out, cries and cries. Maybe it's just the car but I had to try something else. So after I got over the nausea of spending all that money on a carseat (even with a 20% off coupon. Buh! Ah well, anything for my baby), I decided to treat myself to this sinful decadence...
My theory is and always will be: we all deserve to treat ourselves every now and then. CanIgetanamen?

I'm obsessed with buying shoes for myself. Now I'm obsessed with buying shoes for Cade. Just great.
It's hard because I have no idea what size he will be next Spring/Summer but these were on sale for $7 at Target so I took a chance.

On Saturday I dropped Cade off at his Grami's while I worked and Chad spent the day at a friend's dove field. Cade was ready to cheer on the Gamecocks in his first pair of designer jeans from his Aunt Coco. She bought these for him in Charleston months before he even arrived. It's crazy how we sat there looking at those baby jeans thinking "It's going to be forever before he wears these" and now in the blink of an eye, here he is...*sniff sniff*

Saturday night I made chicken tacos and tried this deliciousness.
Guacamole Hummus from Trader Joe's. Go. get. some. now.
Amazing!

I made chicken tacos the easy/quick way with rotisserie chicken from Bi Lo deli. Usually we grill the chicken but this time I sliced a green pepper and sauteed with olive oil in pan. Add taco seasoning, a little water, and the shredded rotisserie chicken. Let simmer. Then I used Chi Chi's soft tortillas, shredded cheese, black beans, sour cream,  salsa and the guac hummus/chips on the side and I swear it was better than Moe's! Chad is not a huge Mexican fan (like I am) and he even loved it.

Sunday morning we finally made it to church. We have been on vaca or sick for the past couple Sundays and can not seem to get back into the swing of things. I was so happy to be back at church and have lunch with the fam as usual. Oh and mom "aka Grami" celebrated her first Grandparents Day. Cade also visited his Mimi & Popa that afternoon while I went to the store to work some more.

Here's a photo of Cade wearing this cute Petit Ami hand-me-down his first visit to church when he was 3 months. Then we had the same outfit from another friend in 9 month that he wore this past Sunday.
It's amazing the difference four short months can make! He grew up overnight!

My whole world sitting on this one little swing...

My cup runneth over.

I will give to the Lord the thanks due to His rightness and justice, and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High. Psalm 7: 17
