Aquaventure

The first stop on our cruise was Nassau, Bahamas. We've been to Nassau a few times and usually stay at the Crystal Palace Resort, but always find a way to go over to Atlantis on Paradise Island. We absolutely love that place. Who doesn't? So for our stop on the cruise, we knew we wanted to do something at Atlantis and since my mom has stayed there before, she mentioned how she wanted to spend a day at the massive waterpark again. There is a shore excursion you can do to spend all day at Atlantis Aquaventure, which features a mile long lazy river/rapids, tons of awesome slides, a kiddy park, and a million different pools...oh and the beach. It was so much fun, I would recommend this to anyone going on a cruise and looking for a way to spend your day in Nassau. The excursion even includes a free lunch at any of the outdoor restaurants and it's a guaranteed fun day! For more info, view the Atlantis Aquaventure video HERE. {no, they did not pay me to do this wonderful advertising for them}
the gut-wrenching drop that my MOM just had to do since she was celebrating her 50th birthday. She is one tough cookie. I was scared to death waiting at the top and she was absolutely fearless. At the bottom of the slide you go through an enclosed part that takes you through a shark tank. Of course my eyes were closed the whole time, so I saw nothing but it's a "must" if you are there. Take the plunge. Literally!
