So I hated to do a Paula Deen post the other day and not share a Paula recipe! I am such a fan of hers and also a fan of strawberries.
STRAWBERRY COBBLER
makes 6 servings
12 cups sliced fresh strawberries (about 4 pounds)
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, softened
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large saucepan, combine strawberries and sugar. Let stand for 30 minutes. Cook strawberry mixture, stirring frequently over medium heat for 5 minutes. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water until blended. Stir cornstarch mixture into strawberry mixture. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil for 1 minute or until mixture is thickened. Spoon mixture into 6 (5 ounce) ramekins.
In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, oats, flour, and cinnamon. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Divide mixture evenly over strawberry mixture. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until browned and bubbly. Serve warm.
and just to show how much I love strawberries, this dress was another
"must" on my top Lilly Summer "fresh picks".
Also, a sweet strawberry printed skirt by Lilly Pulitzer should arrive next week. You should definitely snag a piece of this "juicy" collection. Why strawberries you say?
It was such a trend for Spring/Summer 10' that even Yves St Laurent
is serving up strawberries on the runway!
Will you try this sweet trend?
I saw you wearing this dress in your photos from your friend Whitney's party. Loved it on you! I need to try it on sometime. Love strawberries too. Going to try making this recipe sometime. Thanks! Have you tried making Paula's Pineapple Blueberry Crunch? It's so easy, and so so yummy! It's one of my go-to recipes. :) Hope you have a great weekend!
