**CHARLIE's STATS**

going to the doctor for his 4 year old check up + shots on July 29th but for now, here's a little more about our Charlie bug...

he's 44 pounds and has twenty teeth.
He's been to the dentist twice already and loves it.
Not sure his height but he's getting SO TALL!

He loves his big brother more than anything and absolutely idolizes Cade (and cousin Carter). Some days he follows them around like a puppy dog and it's the sweetest thing. I know it may drive them nuts but usually Cade is so sweet to include him and Charlie thinks he's just as grown as all the big boys.

He may look like me , but he acts just like his daddy. He's a morning person, calm cool and collected. A little more reserved, but always killing' us with his funny one liners and random things he says. I love that he calls "pajamas": "KAJAMAS" and I never even try to correct him.

He is seriously such a sweet child, even though at times he does have quite the temper whew!

Can't wait to see how he likes preschool this Fall and see what all he LEARNS.

Love you my precious angel!

Charlie's Birthday Celebrations!

still can't believe our baby boy is FOUR!!

I had all intentions of throwing him a big pool party this year but then well, life happens and it just snuck up on me. Birthdays around the 4th are tricky, but luckily being in the middle of Summer there's always plenty to do and plenty of ways to celebrate.

When we found out they were having fireworks at the lake on the 2nd again (random day, but that's on his actual birthday) we knew we would do that. We decided on one fun lake day on Sunday with my side of the fam before my sister's fam left for the beach and then on Charlie's actual birthday we had dinner/cake/fireworks with Chad's family...

Here's a few pics from our pontoon ride / beach picnic at Lake Russell

"boat hair, don't care..."

On Monday, the boys got haircuts and we took Charlie out to Chuy's for Mexican to celebrate even more. Tuesday, his actual birthday, I left work a little early and picked up pizza + wings and cake to take to Chad's parents which is on the way to the lake!

Aunt Monk made him this cute sign...

I definitely wrote on a Walmart cake and popped some shark fins + star candles on there...

we went over for a sunset cruise and waited for the fireworks to begin...

pics are out of order, but here's some fun party favors I got for the boys + our nephews. most I found at the Dollar Tree or Target dollar spot...

the 3D firework glasses from Target were a big hit!

Love this baby more than he will ever know. He never asks for a thing, just said he wanted a "shark party" and at this age he thinks a "party" is cake, candles and presents...even if it's just with family.
We had such a fun time!

Here's to more fun adventures and watching him grow...

Next up, Charlie's 4 Year Old Survey and our 4th of July fun!

happy birthday Charlie!

Oh my precious Charlie...time sure flies!

He may look just like his mama, but he acts just like his daddy. He’s calm, cool and collective. Reserved, easy-going, super sweet...but sure to keep you laughing with his off the wall, witty one liners ðŸ’¥His spunky little personality shines through more and more each year and he certainly keeps us all entertained. His hobbies include: playing Roblox, lining up Matchbox cars from one end of the house to the other, eating salads (!?!) and well, doing anything Cade is doing ðŸ¤ªHe’s a mama’s boy. He says jump, I ask “how high?” (#guilty) and he will always, always, always be my baby boy ðŸ’™

in honor of his birthday, here's my most favorite video of him...EVER.
you're welcome.

charlie's first trip to the dentist

Thursday, August 2, 2018

Last Thursday was Charlie's first dentist appointment!

He had no idea what was going to happen...as obvious by this pic...

After watching Cade get his teeth cleaned, we had planned on just letting him sit in the chair and let the hygienist show him all of the tools, etc... We had no idea he would do so well as to let her actually clean his teeth, floss his teeth, put the vitamins on his teeth AND let the dentist check them! I was in shock, but oh so proud.

Not so sure what to think about it all...

He seriously did so good!

This was before when Cade was getting ready. He looks sixteen here, I swear.

thankful for a great checkup

prizes and no cavities! PRAISE THE LORD.
(if you know how much trouble we've had with Cade's teeth, then you know this is a huge blessing. I still can't believe Cade hasn't lost any yet but she did say one or two were loose)

after the dentist, we got Chick Fil A and ran by Sugar.
Then we went home to change and have a little pool time with friends at the Erskine pool. Clearly Charlie was just there for the snacks...

we ended the day watching movies and playing games

always thankful for Summer days off with my boys!!!

more Summer shenanigans.

AKA phone dump.

Lots more to document about our busy Summer! Let's back it up to June and then I'll go from there, bullet point style...

  • Chad went deep sea fishing with friends and they caught a ton of maxi, so I've had fun making mahi tacos this Summer because it's just fresh, easy and I love Mexican food ANY time.

  • We've taken the pontoon out several nights just for the boys to fish and they absolutely love it. One night we were cut short by a storm. Tis the season!

  • We went to a wedding for a sweet friend who I use to page with for Senator Billy O'Dell back in college. We had so much fun working at the Statehouse and now we're back full circle with her mom being one of my sweetest customers and Kelli & new husband Quinn are actually working/living in Greenwood too.
I wore this Lilly Pulitzer Valli Shift to the wedding and it was such a comfy swing style!

they are HUGE Carolina fans, so Cocky made an appearance. Spurs up!

like I said, a true gamecock.

we go wayyyyy back. so much fun then and so much fun now!

  • the boys had a fun week at Main Street Methodist VBS! This is the church my sister and fam goes to and Courtney was sweet enough to kinda help with the boys and it was Charlie & Macy's first VBS experience. They had a blast!

  • random pic of my handsome baby boy at the lake one evening. had to post. those big blue eyes just get me every time.

  • random, but I also made this Squash, Mozzarella & Bacon Quiche with fresh squash out of my father in law's garden and it was SO GOOD!!!! We have definitely been loving all the Summer veggies...

  • right before Charlie's third birthday we took him to his first movie: Jurassic Park Fallen Kingdom (yes, who takes their two year olds to this movie? um, us). Y'all. He absolutely LOVED IT. He's not scared of a thing and he stayed awake for the entire movie. Cade always fell asleep when he was that age! Charlie left the movie theater saying "MAMA! DADDY! THAT WAS KEWWWWL" We hope to go see Hotel Transylvania 3 next week. I will forever miss the sweet baby days, but I'm so excited my boys are now older and can do more fun activities together (they're 3.5 years apart).

  • Cade also enjoyed Abbeville High School's baseball camp earlier this week. Our friend Nick is the baseball coach and Cade is finally old enough to go! He had a BLAST and is so obsessed with baseball.

  • Last weekend we had friends over and made smores around the fire pit behind our shop. The boys also loved.

  • SC's Festival of Discovery : a festival of bbq, blues and beer , rolled into Uptown Greenwood on Thursday and I've been eating aaall the things. BBQ tacos with "slawsa" (yes, it's a thing) is my favorite. There's so many fun events going on and you can not miss the food!!!!!!!

  • spent time with my new nephew yesterday, then we took the boys swimming at a neighbor's house last night. #welovesummer
can't believe he's two months already

Here's to more fun Summer shenanigans. I can't believe how fast it's flying by!!! We'll be registering Cade for FIRST GRADE soon. Aaaaahhhhhhh
