beach weekend.

yes, in January.

so Chad goes on his Alabama hunting trip every MLK weekend! Sometimes it falls on my bday, sometimes it doesn't. Fine by me, I prepare myself to single-mom it for the weekend and it's all good. He goes about twice a year and always fills our freezer up with deer meat once he's back. A win!

Well this year my sister surprised me last minute with a trip to her in-laws beach house at Isle of Palms. So last Friday morning me, mom, my sis and FOUR KIDS loaded up in my Explorer (PTL for third row seating - I have used it a ton!) and we headed to the coast. Uncle Mack was set to come down and meet us after work. We had a chill night in, then the next morning it was golf cart rides then brunch at Morgan Creek. Skip tried out his first sucker and was obsessed...

these three are a HOOT!

after Gator bites (oh yes!) , crab dip, onion rings and more apps...it was time to work it off at the park

then the beach! we couldn't believe the temps were 65+

It was seriously amazing.

Charlie's little toes in this pic kill me....ohhhh how precious are these babies...

just living his best life...

They all had such a great day that wrapped up the afternoon with outdoor showers and getting ready so that me, Grami and Coco could drive into Charleston for dinner at Magnolias!

Cade snapped a few pics for us before we left...

Yes, Uncle Mack kept all four kids while we devoured the most AMAZING MEAL + got to catch up. My mom, sis and I talk everyday via text, snap or something on our phones...but it's SO nice to actually sit down at a table....have a good meal (with no kids attached to our legs) and actually catch up. They are truly my best friends.

Highly recommend Magnolias! It was restaurant week, so I had a 1. Brussel sprouts salad (divine!) + salmon with goat cheese grits + toffee brûlée cake , all for $40. Seriously, so. good.

The next morning we explored some more and the temps were 20 degrees colder, I swear.

We decided to hit up this fun indoor/outdoor park in Mt Pleasant. The kids loved it!

We rode go-carts, spent way too much money in the arcade and ended the day at Papi Taqueria. I had never been but Mack & Court loved it. Such a cool place, definitely check it out...

after another yummy meal we had family game night (aka too many laughs...) and watched Sunday night football. The next morning my sis had also surprised mom and I with massages at the Wild Dunes spa. Whaaaaaa!??? She spoils us! (Well, truth be known...we do spoil her all of the other 364 days of the year but she's the baby and worth it :) We certainly enjoyed our time and so thankful she took us along for the ride....

What an awesome weekend it was!

Cheers to a little relaxation, a lot of laughs and family time + a ton of good food.
If only Chad were there because that would have been my perfect weekend right there!
Can't wait for warmer temps, Summer and more beach time!!!!!!!
