Most of you know I looooove me some country music. Any music really.
Last night after girls night I had to race home to watch the rest of the CMA Awards.
My fav, Miranda won Female Vocalist of the Year and Blake won Male Vocalist of the Year!
She was absolutely stunning in this gorgeous blue.
Country's power house couple.
As far as I'm concerned Blake & Miranda are the new Tim & Faith.
Love them. They keep it real.
Adore Carrie's dress. She is always spot on. However, I didn't love every outfit her stylist chose for her 44 changes during hosting, but her red carpet dress was a winner in my book. Again, showing off her best asset...her legs...
That's why I tweeted...
Dear Santa.
I'll just take legs like Carrie Underwood.
K, thanks.
HOLY LEGS CARRIE.
She's phenomenal and along with Taylor Swift, such great role models for young girls these days...instead of say, poor Miley right?
I told Chad jokingly that my goal for 2014 was to have legs like Carrie. His response,
"Well you betta get off that couch and start running up and down Nation Road" (the road we live on) I mean, at least he gives it to me honest.
I loved the tribute Luke Bryan did for his two siblings. His brother died in a car accident, then his sister died at home at age of 39. Luke may seem to be all "shake it for me" but he has an awesome testimony and if you've ever lost a loved one, you would have related to this song he sang...trust.
Jennifer Nettles and a few others did a tribute to Kenny Rogers. They sang Islands in the Stream, then The Gambler, of course, but let me share with you a tweet and a convo from my husband.
First of all ...
Me: "OMG. Jennifer Nettles JUST had a baby and looks amazing!"
Chad: "No way"
Me: "Yuh huh. Swear"
Chad: "Well she must be wearing some tight SKANX"
(that's what he calls them. No lie. I mean I try people, I really do)
Then Chad was so taken back by the way Kenny looked (um, hello plastic surgery) he tweeted this:
@chad_amos: "The gambler is about one facelift away from folding"
I die. Bless it.
Alan Jackson and George Strait did a tribute to the possum, George Jones. May he rest in peace. I was going to buy Chad tickets to see him in Spartanburg at a show that was a week after he passed. You talk about classic country music. It doesn't get much better than "He Stopped Loving Her Today"
The KING of country won Entertainer of the Year. So glad I got to finally see him in concert with my sister this past March. George has had a great year.
and just for fun, a little #TBT to 2009, our one year anniversary trip with my honey to CMA FEST. One of the most fun trips of my life! Nashville is my jam. Music is our therapy.
Meeting celebs at the convention center. I reaaaaaally want to go back next year since it will be five years since.
Trying to make it happen again. If you love country music and have the chance to go to CMA Fest, do it. It is a blast!!
