secretary desk style.

I've been on a painting kick since last weekend. I refinished a desk about a year ago and then two pieces this past weekend, so since they all turned out so well I am thinking what do I want to paint next? I have one of my grandparent's secretary desks that I just adore but thinking do I want to paint it or leave it as is for our new house? (We don't have it in our current house, just in storage)

I do love the look of wood, but thinking it's scratched up a bit and you know I do love a splash of color! There are so many cool ways to use a secretary desk these days.
Here's a pic of how they used one as a mini bar!

Classic desk. I love love love this light grey/blue with gold detailing. My first pick!

How about a punch of PINK? You know this is so me, but could I talk Chad into it?

Fresh, creamy white would be gorgeous in a future living room or bedroom.

but again I do love a light blue or light grey...

How about a mix of wood and paint color?

Another white with blue inside. Love.

and the way they've converted this one into a china display and the gold detail seriously makes me want to put it in a future dining room.

Aaaaaah, see. How do you ever decide now thanks to Pinterest???
What's your favorite?

  1. Love these! My dad built us a china cabinet that is really similar to this with the secretary desk bottom. It's stained glossy ebony. I love the punch of pink! I'd have a hard time convincing my husband of that one, too, though. Haha.

  2. I love the one that is painted with the wood still inside. It's updated but, still shows its old charm. However, I love the ones with the gold accents! Beautiful! Maybe you could figure out a way to incorporate them all? :)
