Our soggy 4th of July!

Tuesday, July 9, 2013

Had a quick minute to catch up a bit here on the ol' blog. Last week we celebrated the 4th with family and friends at Danny and Donna's (Chad's parents best friends, who are practically like family) pool!
Usually we always have a pool party at our house and LOVE hosting a big party, but since we just threw together a huge Memorial Day bash for Chad's 30th that seems like yesterday and had been so busy at work, we decided it was best to let someone else host this year. PTL.

I posted this fun collage on FB and Instagram (follow me at @sandimcclain) of our sweet boy.
Oh the difference a year makes. It's crazy how much they change in such a short amount of time!

When we first made it to Danny & Donna's, they had the cutest baby pool set up for the little bitty ones and Cade had fun "going pishing". There was SUNSHINE - just for a little while.

Cade makes this serious face a lot...

It began to rain, but in between showers these boys LOVED playing in the big pool. Cade is fearless and wanted to jump right in without the puddle jumper. Then he proceeded to walk over to the diving board and nearly jumped right in. You can not take your eyes off of him for a second. I chased him everywhere!!!

"What do you MEAN we have to get out of the pool now?"
Then it began to really rain. I mean rain hard. What did these crazy kiddos wanna do? Just play in the rain of course!

They entertained themselves with ice, drinks and coolers under the carport.

Just one of the many faces of Cade. I get this a lot...

We also ate lots of yummy food! (and cupcakes. Carter in particular loved them)

However, I think the highlight of the day for Cade was taking a ride (or two...or three) on "Papa Danny's" tractor in between rain storms. This boy absolutely LOVES a tractor. All he talks about and all he wants to do is either watch "trac trac" videos or "ride trac trac".

It was definitely a 4th to remember. We have always had pop up storms but never a day of full monsoons. Our meteorologist said Upstate SC has gotten more rain in the first few days of July than we usually do for the whole month! It has been crazy but we can't complain. Better than a drought I suppose. Hope everyone had a great 4th. Next up, I'll post about Cade's first trip to the zoo!!
