10 MONTHS

Tuesday, December 4, 2012

Excuse our chalkboard, it's looking a little rough. Life with a 10 month old.

Look who is 10 MONTHS!! (as of yesterday)

At his last checkup he was 22.14 lb and 29 inches long.
He is in sizes 12-18 month, Diaper size 3 during day and 4 at night
Shoe size 5 (huge feet) and he has EIGHT teeth.
Insane how fast he has grown up. Where has my itty bitty baby gone? It's sad.

Especially since he's walking now. He took his first steps on November 7th and now three weeks later, he's walking around EVERYWHERE. Granted, he still crawls some but he's walking now more than he crawls and can stand up from sitting position. It's insane. I feel like he's turned into a toddler overnight. This isn't suppose to be happening yet :( Where is my itty bitty baby? Hate to tell him, but he's still gonna be considered "mama's baby" for a long long time.

  • He has one little curl that comes out after bath time. It is the sweetest thing and I believe he's going to have a head full of curls since both mine and Chad's hair is naturally curly. (Especially mine. Big time)

  • he still loves to throw his hand up and say "buh" (bye) and now even starts saying "byeee byeee" with a Southern twang because that's how we say it. ;)

  • when he's sleepy, you know it. He'll just walk or crawl over to wherever you're sitting and put his head on your knee. Then you know it's time to pick him up to rock or put him in crib.
  • He sleeps in his crib from about 9:00-8:30am, almost 12 hours. Some nights it IS 12 hours if he goes to bed closer to 8:30
  • He loves his daddy but at nighttime he wants his mama. The other night I was late because of a dinner and Chad said he literally walked into our bedroom door and started banging on it because he thought I was in the bathroom. Chad opened it and he swore he heard him walk into bathroom and say "Maaaaaaaa"
  •
  • He loves to watch me make coffee in the Keurig. He gets a kick out of hearing it "brew"
  • He is not a fan of bananas - just like his mama. I cut one up to see if he'd eat it the other day. He took maybe two bites and made a face. That and cranberry sauce are the only things I've seen him turn his nose up at.
"Sunny, are you ok?" Yeah, he won't pose much with Sunny the monkey anymore.
  • He is CLIMBING on drawers in the kitchen now. I turned around for one second and he was dangling from one of the drawers, doing pull ups. My father in law said he is the strongest baby he's ever seen. His shoulders are SO broad and he's solid as a rock!
  • He takes naps and loves playing in the pack & play at my moms. Mom calls it his "baby cave". Nice, so why haven't we got one at our house to contain this wild child?? Well he learned to stand there in the playpen, and then crouch down so we would say "Where's Cade?" then he POPS back up! It is the best version of "peep eye" ever! We also looked over there one day and he had taken his pants off on his own for the first time. Hilarious!
  • He still sings. We were watching Elf tonight and he just busted out "in song". No idea what he was singing, nor do we know what he's saying half the time. He has his own language.
  • Kid LOVES to talk on the phone too. He puts it up to his ear and says "LO"? I'm guessing we may stay on the phone a little too much? Ya think?
"Santa, ok here's my list..."
  • If I haven't seen him all day and he is really excited to see me, all I have to do is scoop him up and make a kissy face and he just leaps towards me with his mouth WIDE OPEN giving me kisses. It is the sweetest thing.
  • He loves playing with water bottles, tupperware, and keys
  • He was hardly phased by the tree, which was SO surprising. He barely walks over to it or notices it. PRAISE the Lord.
  • He did try to say "Woof woof" one day when we saw a dog outside at Mrs. Kims. He also knows who "Lucy" the cat is (our cat outside). Every morning when I'm getting him ready and bundled up (and he usually fights me when putting his coat on), I will say "Ok Cade let's go find Lucy" and he immediately looks towards the door with this face like "WHERE?!" He loves watching Lucy and the kittens outside.
  • He attended his first parade, rode a carousel for the first time, a "mall ride", tried new foods such as cranberry sauce, rice & gravy, macaroni, and new baby foods this month. Oh and he met Santa too!
Looking forward to lots more "first" as we continue to celebrate the Christmas season!
Having SO much fun with our sweet boy. Just can't believe we will be planning his first party soon.
HAPPY 10 MONTHS CADE!
