lucky number 7.

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Well, maybe not that lucky. The past month has had it's trials and even this week we've had a bit more challenges than usual. It is a combination of a "fever virus" going around and him teething. Nonetheless, I still kiss this sweet face mmmm....a million and one times a day!
How could you not?

Yesterday, 8.3.12, he turned 7 months.
Weight: it was 19.13 last Monday Height: guessing around 29 inches
Diaper size: 3  | Clothing: 9-12 months, some 6-9 month seperates

"See - it says "7 months, right there!"

Lots of big "firsts" again this month. He started crawling about two weeks ago! Before then, he scooted around with the "army craw" but now he is officially on all fours and going EVERYWHERE. He will crawl all around the house and is pulling up now too. Pulling up on the coffee table, the chairs, the couch, our legs...you name it. He's into everything!

He had to go to the doctor last Monday for his first "sickness". Some strange fever virus that's going around. His fever was up to 103! He was pitiful. They did a urine sample and bloodwork and it was not a fun day. Poor baby has had quite a week and still isn't feeling so great.

He watched his first Carolina game last week. Wow, has the year went by so fast. I can remember last October going to a game at Williams Brice when I was pregnant with him
and he kicked and kicked and kicked!
He had a blast watching the game at "Aunt Coco & soon-to-be Uncle Mack's" house.

He hasn't been sleeping so great with all the teething and not feeling well this week.
Apparently he needs a pillow...

What 7 month old gets STUCK in the sectional sofa? I mean, really!
He was on the couch with me then he kept squirming to get down and got stuck. Had to snap a picture really quick. He thought it was so funny and laughed. He pulls up on the couch ALL the time and has to be right up there with me.

When I tried to make him sit on the other side, he gives me this "I'm-mad-at-you-mama" face.
He is such a mess!

He is loving baby food, almost more than his bottle. He loves the pears, cinnamon and rice cereal blend. Love bananas, applesauce, and pears with his oatmeal in the morning. Sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, or green beans at night with rice cereal. Love applesauce as a snack, has tried the Gerber yogurt blends and officially knows how to feed himself "puffs" and "yogurt melts". He loves those too! Great way to keep him busy while I'm cooking dinner or while we eat, even if more end up in the highchair than actually in his mouth.

He also loves baby Mum Mums and has tried a teething biscuit. He tried a real banana smashed up into itty bitty pieces. I swear this kid arrived in this world ready to eat real food. He's like "no thank you bottle, give me the good stuff". Can you imagine when he is a teenager? Eesh!

He makes lots of new faces these days. This is his "surprised" face. He stares at you with his mouth wide opened. Oh and he does love to stare. Nosy!

He's learned how to open his mouth wide like that and lean in to give you "sugar". It is the sweetest thing!

and we may need to call this his "Sandi" face. He crinkles that nose up when he's laughing, when he's mad sometimes, and it is hilarious! I think I have a few baby/kid pictures with this face.

We love having "family play time" on the floor before he gets his bath at night. My favorite time of the day. We play "monkey in the middle" with him {totally mean, I know. We do let him get the ball and play with it of course} but he has the best time following the ball back and forth...and back and forth. We also bought him this caterpillar toy thing that rolls across the floor and he will chase it everywhere. He loves pushing his walker around too, not standing up - just sitting down/crawling, but it's funny. He is getting so big!

After his bath it's time to rock, read a book and then bed. We just started sleep training this week (i know, at 7 months. Little late to the party and it's my fault I've spoiled him so bad) Oh it has been torture, but we hope he gets better and will learn how to self soothe so we don't have to rock...and rock...and rock...him to sleep only for him to cry bloody murder as soon as you try to lay him in his crib. He started waking up at night wanting a bottle while he was teething these past couple weeks and since the beach he hasn't been sleeping well at all/out of a routine, so I'm hoping this will get him back on track and he will be a more well rested, happier baby...and we will be more rested, happier parents!

He is our WORLD and we sit in awe that he is already 7 months.
Can't wait for another fun month ahead as he begins to celebrate his first Fall season!
