18 Weeks: My little sweet potato

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

So sweet Mr. Cade is the size of a sweet potato this week. Very fitting yet very wild to me.

How far along? 18 weeks today

Total weight gain/loss: + 9 lbs at last dr. appointment.

Maternity clothes? Wore my non-maternity white shorts for the last time this past weekend with the ol' "rubberband trick" [Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about]. Have a pair of maternity jeans I need to get hemmed asap bc I have zero pants anymore. I've been wearing regular dresses with empire waists and switched over my closet to Fall yesterday. Realized I have plenty of flowy dresses and tunics I can hopefully wear. Yes!

Stretch marks? nope. Cocoa butter and my all time fav, Bio Oil are my new best friends.

Sleep: Sleep has been ok lately - had sinus/allergy junk that's making me more tired. I swear this kid sleeps on my bladder too because I'm up a million times at night.

Best moment this week: having someone at the store actually notice I was pregnant and not just wonder if I had ate one too many hamburgers.

Movement: Ive felt a tiny random kick twice while driving. Hope to feel more soon

Cravings: Cantaloupe, watermelon, cheese cubes/string cheese, fast food per the usual, and soups/chillis. Appetite has slowed down some. I get so hungry then get SO full so fast. Anyone else experience this?

Gender: It's a BOY! Joshua Cade McClain

Labor Signs: no, thank goodness

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: My Keurig coffee but I have a pack of Decaf cups and just bought Vanilla Creme Caramel creamer today so I'm excited about that. Also, I plan to splurge on a Starbucks pumpkin spice tall latte every now and then this Fall because it's my absolute favorite. [only 90 mg caffiene, I think I'm ok if it's my one caffeine drink of the day?]

What I am looking forward to: Another ultrasound next Tuesday when I'm 19 weeks. Hope to get some great pictures then. Can not wait to see that sweet face again!

Weekly Wisdom: I feel like I am showing way more than most women due same week as me. They are all having girls though. Think this has anything to do with it? I am carrying a small basketball out front, that's what it looks like. At 18 wks. A little scary. Thoughts on this? I told everyone all along I was carrying a future linebacker :)

Milestones: We are going into the 5th month and only 2 weeks away from being HALFWAY through this pregnancy. Can't believe it. It's true: after the first trimester, time really does start to fly!
