Last Tuesday, our 3rd anniversary, was one of the absolute most exciting days of our life! We snuck up to Vision of Life in Greenville and found out what our sweet baby would be. We didn't tell a soul we were going. Honestly, being so early we just thought that even if we didn't find out the gender, we'd still enjoy seeing our little bundle of joy and it would be a special time on our anniversary. [Chad had not been to the 12wk ultrasound, so I knew he would really be blown away to see the baby moving and kicking around. I just couldn't wait for him to see]
Well luckily, we were able to tell, sat there for 30 minutes just in awe of our little blessing and let me just say...we are OVER THE MOON excited!!
Vision of Life is such a great place if you're wanting to sneak in an extra ultrasound. I had several friends who had referred them, then I went back and found Kelli's post here and knew we just had to try it. I'd recommend it 100% if you're in the area.
*also it was super nice for me to find out a tad early. I realized last week that in 2 1/2 months I would be decorating the store for Christmas and our insanely busy season would begin. Then after that I'd have a few weeks in January and that's it. So I am thrilled that I can begin on the nursery so early and not run around like a crazy person before the holidays. Ok ok, so maybe I'll be doing that anyways. Waddling, not running.
So the next day I emailed/called our families with a funny little poem to surprise them and invite them over for grilled burgers and a "sweet surprise". They were ecstatic! It was such a special time and a day we'll never forget.
Any final guesses as to what you think baby McClain is?
Well no matter boy or girl, at least we knew one thing for sure.
Our child will, without a doubt, love posing in front of the Christmas tree :)
yes, those are childhood photos of me and Chad.
Same pose and everything. Hilarious.
Tell, tell! Can't wait to find out!

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to share :) Kelli and I are mutual friends through my college roomate Jewitte. Jewitte and Kelli went to same high school in Lexington and we were both in Jewitte's wedding! Kelli is so sweet, love her. Jewitte and Rod just adopted a baby boy - he was born yesterday and I am so incredibly excited for them! It's crazy how we've all "grown up" so fast. I feel like we were seriously just in Jewitte's wedding and that was over five years ago now! Time flies...
