Warning: photo overload
I always wondered why God gave me such a tiny family. Both of my parents are only children. Rare. That means no aunts/uncles {just great aunts/uncles which I love dearly} and no first cousins. Also my grandparents had my mom when they were 42 and lived a very long, healthy life before passing at the ages of nearly 90. But that means the only grandparent we now have living is our granddad. So since my dad passed away in 08' that leaves my grandpa, my mom, my sister, my half brother (who lives with his mom) and myself.
Yep.
Saturday as we attended Chad's grandpa's surprise 80th birthday party, it all made sense. God has a perfect plan and reason for everything. Sometimes we just don't realize it until many many years into the future. The Lord knew I would marry into a great big, wonderful family. My extended family is full [on both sides] of plenty of first cousins, grandparents, new "sisters and brothers" and lots of sweet little ones! Coming from a small family really makes you
appreciate big families. Big families = even more love and even more fun. My cup overflows.
Here's a few photos from Jack's surprise 80th birthday party at the Hill House in Abbeville. It was a beautiful February day and wonderful time with family and friends. God is good.
