The week of Christmas I noticed on Facebook a friend's husband was selling tickets to the Chick fil A bowl. Knowing we didn't really have any plans for New Years and wanting a little time away, I immediately bought them on a whim.
[Merry Christmas to ME]
After trying to find a hotel room (at last minute, mind you) the guy let me know they had an extra hotel room at the Hilton where the team was staying. A couple had changed plans and needed to go home after the game. He got us an incredible deal and everything worked out as if it were meant to be! Our friends Beth and Blake even got tickets to come along with us. Everything happened so fast, but I was SO excited...UNTIL Chad got the stomach bug the week before and I just knew I was going to have it too. After loading up on Lysol, Airborne, and a lot of prayers - thankfully I never caught the bug. Poor Chad was pitiful and even though he wasn't "up to par" , he was well enough to go and we had a great time. Just wish the Gamecocks could have made our NYE a little better by uh...winning. :\

inside the dome. GO GAMECOCKS!
After the game we went to the Omni to meet up with Rod & Jewitte, one of my college roomies who now lives in Lexington and I rarely ever get to see. It was so great to catch up and ring in 2011!
Rod had some stellar glasses.
me and the hubs - being silly as usual.
[i had him SO close to being converted. Look, he's even wearing GARNET!]
also had a great time with friends beth & blake
Cheers to 2011!
Hope you all had a great NYE
