Everyday I find more and more to be thankful for.
Take today for instance.
In the Taco Bell drive thru they asked me if I wanted to donate $1 to help world hunger. I mean, a dollar. Who would say no to that? It nearly caught me off guard, being so tired and hungry and strumming through my Blackberry while waiting on her to process the order.
"Of course!" Did I really have to think about it? How incredibly blessed are we to have a day of work, full of three meals (even if one is from a drive thru), never starved. I find myself complaining about being tired, stressed, and hungry all the time. Do we even have a CLUE as to what that really feels like? So with that being said, yes, not only today but everyday I have so much to be thankful for.... don't we all?
I'M THANKFUL FOR
1. the improvements my grandfather has made this week. He's still in the hospital, but yesterday he was able to begin a liquid diet and had several tests today (we'll know results tomorrow) so please keep him in prayer. Just thankful that he has his color back and is perking up a bit. We were really scared earlier this week and still remain scared of the unknown. Thanks for all of the prayers , we appreciate it and know they are working!
2. my amazing friends. Speaking of - one of my best girlfriends, Beth, did a blog post relating to this on Wednesday. I seriously don't know how Chad and I got so lucky but we've got some of the sweetest, thoughtful, caring friends on the planet. Hands down. Very appreciative for their thoughts, prayers, and encouragement. Then last night I come home from another long day at the hospital and they've brought dinner for us just so we won't have to worry about cooking. The Lord has truly brought some amazing people into our lives and for that we are very thankful.
3. my husband. Never like to get too mushy, but he really is my rock. He keeps me sane when there's a whirlwind of insanity, he keeps me grounded when this head of mine starts floating - or should i say "running around like a chicken with it's head cut off" as he calls it, he keeps me comforted when I can't go on, and he gives me unconditional love every second of every day. We never dreamed we would have endured this much as a young couple, but the Lord knew exactly what he was doing. There are no words to express how thankful I am for him. God's plan is perfect.
4. new renovations. Yeah, like we have time for this, but we have been wanting to remodel our guest bedroom [it's the only room in the house we didn't remodel before moving in]. It's one large room that use to be two and we're going to put the center wall back up to make it two small bedrooms. New walls, new carpet, new closet organization, and all that jazz. One of those rooms will hopefully be used for a nursery one day. Basically it has been a junk room - complete with a chaotic assortment of everything from computer/office things, Chad's ridiculous amount of hunting clothes, fishing rods, my ridiculous amount of extra clothes, scrapbook/sewing supplies, and yep, somehow there was a double bed in there. After two years, we're beyond tired of looking at it and being disorganized, so we [ok, Chad] will begin our project this weekend now that we've moved everything out. Don't try to guess how long that took...
I've got plenty of photos coming from several photo shoots done over the past week, but for now here's a few pics I mustered up from this past weekend. Nothing great. One night I made a wreath and watched a Lifetime movie. Go ahead, you can say it - I am officially my mother :)
Thanks again for your prayers and we know everything is in the Lord's hands. No matter what storms come our way, we will always PRAISE HIM!
*and I can't fail to mention how thankful I am for these somewhat COOLER temperatures here in the South. Can I get an amen?
LOVE the wreath and the lil lanterns. What a neat idea. :)
ReplyDeletelove you too!
