...lunch with an American icon.
Last week, myself and two other boutique owners from town {who also carry some of the fashion line Lilly Pulitzer. For instance, I carry the women's apparel, Blossom carries the shoes and accessories, and The Frilly Frog carries the children's part of the line} traveled to West Palm Beach, Florida to visit the Lilly Pulitzer showroom and order Summer 2010 collection.

We knew Lilly still lived in West Palm Beach, and had not been in good health the past couple of years, but when we headed over to the showroom last Wednesday morning {in the fabulous floral Lilly jeep I must add} , they told us that there was a big surprise and have our cameras ready.
The excitement built up and as it drew closer to lunch time, in walks THE lovely Lilly Pulitzer herself - styled with a crisp white button up, cable knit sweater over her shoulders, bright printed classic LP capris, cinched belt, and loose ponytail. Lilly is now 78 years old, but still the epitome of iconic style and grace. We seriously almost fell onto the floor, we were so in awe.
The stories she told us about how she started her iconic business and the life she use to live was just "glam-our" all the time. I mean how could it not be with friends such as the Kennedy's and Vanderbilts? Her testiment of hard work, a creative eye, and determination was really inspiring to us three small town boutique owners.

The entire Palm Beach experience was a breath of fresh air for me, especially since it's easy to get so burnt out working long crazy hours around the Holidays. Everyone at the company is just amazing and a joy to work with. We were thankful for the opportunity to visit Palm Beach and above all, have lunch with the amazing Lilly Pulitzer! It will certainly be an experience we will never forget.

xoxo Lilly!
